Proper EpiPen Usage & Storage
The information given is not intended as healthcare advice. Please see a medical professional for questions regarding any prescriptions or treatment.
Many people with AGS are prescribed EpiPens to help treat their allergic reactions. However, this medicine is only safe and maintains peak efficacy when stored and delivered correctly.
Often, individuals may store their epipens in cars or bags that are left in temperatures outside of standard room temperature. Although a car can seem like a convenient holding place, the temperature within a resting car can reach levels that are too hot or too cold and can affect the efficacy of an epipen. If an epipen is left in those situations then it may no longer be safe to use and it may not work as intended.
